Welcome to the Athletic Department of the South River Public Schools

“Home of the Rams”

Being a RAM is something all of our athletes can be proud of.  One of the most treasured aspects of RAM athletes is their sense of pride and tradition.  Our student athletes take great pride in their sport, whether it is football, soccer, basketball, wrestling, baseball, softball, tennis, track, golf, bowling, or cheerleading.  RAM athletes demonstrate determination, dedication, and the will to succeed.

The South River Rams have a long and rich tradition of team and individual student athlete successes.  Our athletes have gone on to experience success at the collegiate level, and several South River graduates became professional athletes.  South River has had coaches inducted into the New Jersey State Interscholastic Athletic Association Hall of Fame.  Our football team recently recorded its 500th career victory.  The Rams have won state championships in football, baseball, wrestling, boys’ soccer, softball, boys’ tennis, girls’ basketball, and winter track.

High school sports is only one component to be considered when developing a well-rounded individual.  Our student athletes not only compete on the playing field, but in the classroom as well.  They have won numerous scholar athlete awards.  As time goes by, students can reflect on their experiences and realize the value of the lessons they have learned both on the playing field and in the classroom.

We are very proud of our storied athletic tradition and of our student athletes.
