Procedure For Registering College
Applications/Scholarships
All information requested for a college application/scholarship will be collated and sent out from the guidance office, unless specified otherwise by the particular institution. This will allow the guidance department the time to insure that the application is complete and all required documentation intact. Timeline All applications must be submitted to the Guidance Office at least (10) school days prior to the application deadline. Failure to meet that deadline could result in the application not being mailed on time. Sign-In Book All college/scholarship applications must be reviewed by the guidance office secretary and upon review and approval must be signed in and registered into the College Sign-In Book. This will help insure that all applications/scholarships are processed expeditiously from the high school guidance office to the college admission office. The student will receive a receipt confirming the date the application/scholarship was mailed.Application Procedure 1. Transcript Release Form This document must be completed and signed. If you are under 18 years of age, this form must be signed by a parent or guardian. Your transcripts cannot be mailed without proper consent.2. Letters of RecommendationLetters of recommendation should be requested as soon as possible. It is important to have these on file in the guidance office to avoid any delay in processing and mailing applications on time. 3. 4. Application/Scholarship Reviewed By Guidance Secretary 5. Application/Scholarship is registered in COLLEGE SIGN-IN BOOK after secretary accepts the document. Student Will: Print Name Print Name of College/Scholarship Print Date of Entry Sign Student Name 6. Student will receive receipt confirming date application/scholarship was mailed Application will be mailed as promptly as possible. Student will receive confirmation notice in homeroom indicating date document was mailed. 7. Recording mailed applications/scholarships Documentation of mailed applications/scholarships will be recorded in a variety of ways to insure accuracy of content and verification of mailed documents. 8. College/University Student Chooses To Attend The guidance office must be notified in writing of the particular school the student has chosen to attend so final transcripts can be forwarded to that institution at the end of the school year; the name and address of the school must be included in writing. 9. Follow-Up Suggestion/Telephone Call Recommendation: Every college/institution receives a tremendous amount of correspondence and mail associated with the admission process. To insure that your particular application has been received and recorded, a phone call to the admission office to verify its receipt is highly recommended. Please ask or inquire the following: Introduce yourself and be prepared with to present identification (Social Security Number) Has my application been received? Is my file complete with all necessary and required documentation needed to make a decision on admission? What is the timeline for admission decisions? Ask the name of the person you are speaking to and thank them for their assistance.
