Procedure For Registering College Applications/Scholarships

All information requested for a college application/scholarship will be collated and sent out from the guidance office, unless specified otherwise by the particular institution. This will allow the guidance department the time to insure that the application is complete and all required documentation intact.

Timeline   All applications must be submitted to the Guidance Office at least (10) school days prior to the application deadline. Failure to meet that deadline could result in the application not being mailed on time.

Sign-In Book   All college/scholarship applications must be reviewed by the guidance office secretary and upon review and approval must be signed in and registered into the College Sign-In Book. This will help insure that all applications/scholarships are processed expeditiously from the high school guidance office to the college admission office. The student will receive a receipt confirming the date the application/scholarship was mailed.

Recommendation:   Every college/institution receives a tremendous amount of correspondence and mail associated with the admission process. To insure that your particular application has been received and recorded, a phone call to the admission office to verify its receipt is highly recommended. Please ask or inquire the following:

Introduce yourself and be prepared with to present identification (Social Security Number)

Has my application been received?

Is my file complete with all necessary and required documentation needed to make a decision on admission?

What is the timeline for admission decisions?

Ask the name of the person you are speaking to and thank them for their assistance.
