HOME INSTRUCTION: Home Instruction services are available for any child, upon notification, that a student will be confined for a period of at least two weeks. Requests for Home Instruction are to be initiated by the parent who must submit : 1. Completed "Request for Home Instruction" form 2. Physician's note stating the need for Home Instruction All requests for Home Instruction must be reviewed by the School Physician and approved by the Superintendent of Schools. Teachers should be aware of the home instruction service, and consult with a parent when it seems appropriate. Principals routinely inform parents of the availability of Home Instruction. School Nurses are also requested to notify parents if Home Instruction appears to be warranted. Parents who anticipate a medical need for any school absence longer than 2 weeks are asked to notify Student Services to discuss the need for home instruction. |
