Welcome to South River Middle School It is a pleasure for me, as your Principal, to personally welcome you to South River Middle School. We are a friendly caring school, and you will feel secure and safe here, because our first concern is for your safety and your comfort. We are a very diversified school, which means that our students are from many different types of cultures and backgrounds, different colors, religions, and nationalities, different financial incomes, and different families (we're kind of like the United Nations!). And yet in many ways, we are all the same, for we all want to feel that we belong to other groups of people, like friends, and we all want to be accepted for who we are individually. At South River Middle School we are accepted, with pride in knowing that our faculty and staff truly believe and stand by the notion that all students can learn, and all students can be successful. Our school has provided evidence that with a consistent, sound work ethic, our students will succeed. That has been witnessed by the fact that for the past two academic years, assessments on the statewide examinations, (GEPA and NJASK), have rendered us in good standing having made "AYP", and therefore being in good stead under federal education act entitled "No Child Left Behind". At South River Middle School, we believe that every child's continuous improvement toward success is our most important product. We also believe that we are advancing knowledge, skills, and information, and thereby transforming lives! Our faculty and administration are here to help you become the very best that you can be in everything you do. We want you to have every opportunity to succeed, and believe that you are capable of learning everything that is important to your future. Also, you need to know that making a mistake is not failing; it just means you might have to try again. We want you to master the skills, and gain the knowledge and strategies so very necessary to becoming successful in high school, and we will help you get there! Lastly, while hard work is extremely important, we also want you to enjoy your middle school years. We believe that all of our students can have fun, during these very important years of growth, between the ages of 10 & 14. Most of all, know that we will help you in any way we can, because we care!
