NURSING AND MEDICAL SERVICES:

A certified school nurse is available full time in each of the schools. The nurses are available for administrating of medication, routine medical assessments, review of mandated medical records, medical emergencies and sicknesses during the school day.

Only a school nurse may administer medication to a student, prescription or over the counter. All medications must be in the original container as well as accompanied by both a physician's note and a written parent request. Staff having questions concerning medication or nursing services may discuss these concerns with their school nurse.

A school physician is available in the district twice per month, for student health appraisals as required for new entrants, for athletic physicals, and for mandated new employee physicals. He also reviews requests for Home Instruction, and medical requests for Home Instruction, as well as addressing other concerns which may arise.
